Great Views from Mt Archer

Rockhampton_from_Mt_Archer-featured.jpg

Mt Archer National Park provides magnificent views of the city of Rockhampton and hosts a range of native Australian flora and fauna including species you’re unlikely to see anywhere else like stunning glossy Black Cockatoo.

At the summit lies Frazer Park, around 604 meters above sea level and full of great picnic areas and lookouts.  Private transport is needed to reach the summit but it’s well worth the climb.

At the top you’ll be rewarded with absolutely breathtaking views that stretch to the horizon, don’t forget your camera!

There’s also plenty of great bushwalks to take around the summit, they lead off into the bushland and often take you to other great lookouts that are hidden away.

There’s facilities to have a family barbecue or picnic which is a popular pastime among locals and visitors alike.  Make sure you bring supplies and goodies because although there is a store at the top, it’s often closed.

When in Rockhampton, make sure you plan a visit to the beautiful Mt Archer and catch a sunset or sunrise. It's a great stop on your way out to any of the other great places near Rocky.
